Turkish Spindles

My obsession about hand spindles didn’t stop at the top whorl rim-weighted spindles but now includes the low-whorl Turkish spindles. It takes some time to get used to spin these spindles because I would rather roll the shaft on my thigh than snap with my fingers. Nevertheless, I find them beautiful and graceful.

Below is the Lark from Jenkins, Macassar Ebony 23g.

And the Tiny Turkish from Threadsthrutime in black and white ebony.

And a side by side comparison. The Lark spins longer and faster than the Tiny Turkish.
