Yarn Indulgence

Knitters knit because it’s creative, hypnotic, and a sense of accomplishment at completion. But the real reason knitters love to knit because they love yarn. In the old days, knitting used to be done by the poor (or even children) for extra income and the wool was itchy and coarse. But now, knitting has become a leisure and an indulgence to the senses. Yarn companies constantly up-the-ante for luxurious yarn, from the most trendy colors to the finest fibers around the world.

Luna, by S. Charles Collezionne, made in Italy from 71% super kid mohair, 20% silk and 9% lurex.

Knitpicks Gloss in 70% merino wool/30% silk, Louisa Harding Mulberry in 100% silk, Classic Elite Silky Alpaca Lace in 70% alpaca/30% silk, and Luna (left to right).
