Tacoma, Washington

I was in Tacoma last week for the Madrona Fiber Arts 2011 Winter Retreat. This is my first time and I had a blast meeting the who’s who of the fiber art world. I took classes with Nancy Bush, Judith MacKenzie, Janel Laidman, and Amelia Garripoli. The retreat was inside the modern Murano Hotel in downtown Tacoma, Washington. The theme of the hotel is glass and there are beautiful glass sculptures in every parts of the hotel. Tacoma markets itself as an art town next to Seatle and the Museum of Glass dominates the skyline.
