Lightroom 3

Taking photos does not end after pressing the shutter button. In the old days, photographers huddle in the darkrooms to chemically enhance photos, and in the present day we use photo editing tool like Picasa, Aperture, and Photoshop to digitally enhance our photos. After several months of debating whether I need the almighty Photoshop CS5, Lightroom 3, or stick with Photoshop Element 9. I decided that I’ve been taking too many photos and Lightroom is the tool I need to manage my growing portfolio. I also switched to shooting RAW instead of JPEG and Lightroom can quickly enhance photos without having to deal with layers.

Still, it is a steep learning curve and YouTube has been a great tool as well a free tutorials from http://lightroomkillertips.com/. After playing with it for two days, I’m just scratching the surface and already quite happy with it.

These photos were taking in my neighborhood today and edited by Photoshop Lightroom 3 using various presets.
