Route 66 – Part 1

Last weekend, I went on a Route 66 photography workshop with Image Quest Tours guided by Dave Wyman and Ken Rockwell. I wasn’t sure what to expect out of this trip, except the food will be delicious, Dave will take good care of everyone, and Ken will be opinionated. What I didn’t expect is that this trip was hard work. It was a challenge to take a decent picture of ugly things. By the forth time we were deposited in a bone yard to shoot rusty metal and decrepit urban decay, I began to doubt myself of ever finding any inspiration. The most humbling part is when we get back to the hotel and Dave would have a slide show of the photos he shot during the day and they were stunning.
